Dr Chetana Kallappa

Dr Chetana Kallappa is a Consultant Paediatrician dedicated to delivering compassionate, comprehensive medical care for infants, children, and young adults. Taking a thoughtful and reassuring approach, she works closely with families to evaluate and manage a wide range of general paediatric conditions. Dr Kallappa prioritises a holistic, child-centred care model, ensuring that each assessment and treatment plan is tailored to the individual physical, emotional, and developmental needs of the child.

In her clinical practice, Dr Kallappa has developed specialist expertise in Paediatric Sleep Medicine as a Paediatric Sleep Specialist. She supports families navigating complex childhood sleep issues, including insomnia, restless sleep, and sleep difficulties linked to neurodevelopmental conditions such as autism spectrum disorder and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Her clinical focus also encompasses paediatric neurology and epilepsy, alongside paediatric respiratory conditions such as severe bronchiolitis. Additionally, she plays an active role in medical simulation training, safeguarding, and guiding young patients with long-term conditions through the transition to adult healthcare services.

Dr Kallappa completed her medical degree with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), followed by a Master of Medicine (MD) and a Diploma in Child Health (DCH). She further enhanced her specialist training by earning a Postgraduate Diploma in Paediatric Sleep Medicine with distinction from the University of Western Australia. Demonstrating a continuous commitment to clinical excellence, she is a Member of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (MRCPCH).
