Dr Carol Inward

Dr Carol Inward is an accomplished Consultant Paediatrician and Consultant Paediatric Nephrologist specialising in the diagnosis, care, and management of medical conditions in children and young people. With a patient-centred approach, she provides reassuring and holistic care for infants, children, and adolescents experiencing a wide range of general paediatric health concerns alongside complex renal disorders. Dr Inward works closely with families to ensure clear communication, compassionate support, and individualised care plans tailored to each child's physical and developmental needs.

Her clinical practice encompasses all aspects of paediatric renal medicine, with expertise in the management of acute kidney injury, chronic kidney disease, and paediatric renal transplantation. Dr Inward routinely provides specialist care for children undergoing kidney replacement therapy, as well as antenatal counselling for parents following the identification of foetal renal tract anomalies. Collaborating within multidisciplinary teams of specialist nurses, dietitians, and allied health professionals, she ensures young patients receive coordinated, evidence-based care from initial assessment through to long-term management.

Dr Inward completed her medical education, graduating with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MB BCh) before going on to earn a Doctor of Medicine (MD) research degree. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (FRCPCH). In addition to her clinical duties, Dr Inward contributes to national clinical registries and paediatric nephrology research initiatives aimed at improving long-term health outcomes for young people with renal conditions.
