Ms Bubby Thava

Ms Bubby Thava is a highly skilled Consultant General Surgeon and Consultant Colorectal Surgeon who offers comprehensive surgical care for patients with a broad spectrum of abdominal and bowel conditions. Dedicated to delivering compassionate, evidence-based care, she works alongside multidisciplinary specialist teams to ensure that every treatment plan is tailored to the individual. Ms Thava emphasises clear communication and patient comfort throughout the treatment journey, ensuring patients feel thoroughly informed and supported from consultation through to post-operative recovery.

Her clinical interests focus extensively on general and colorectal surgical procedures, with a strong emphasis on minimally invasive techniques. Ms Thava possesses specialised expertise in the management of colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease including Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, and diverticular disease. Her practice encompasses advanced laparoscopic and keyhole surgical approaches, complex abdominal wall hernia repairs, and the surgical treatment of proctological conditions such as haemorrhoids, anal fissures, fistulas, and anal abscesses.

Ms Thava earned her Master of Arts degree in 1997 before completing her primary medical qualification, Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), in 2000. She undertook her higher specialist registrar surgical training within the Oxford Deanery, followed by advanced specialist fellowships in colorectal surgery in London. In 2013, she achieved Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) and Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons (MRCS). Ms Thava is an active member of the Association of Coloproctology of Great Britain and Ireland (ACPGBI), maintaining a strong commitment to clinical excellence and modern surgical practice.
