Dr Barbara Watling

Dr Barbara Watling is a dedicated Consultant Paediatrician specialising in comprehensive medical care for infants, children, and young people. Operating across both acute assessment and community care settings, Dr Watling provides patient-centred, evidence-based healthcare tailored to the unique developmental and medical needs of younger patients. Her clinical practice is grounded in open communication, ensuring parents and carers are fully supported and informed throughout their child's healthcare journey.

Her clinical interests encompass general paediatrics, acute paediatric assessment, and community child health. Dr Watling possesses particular expertise in the assessment and management of faltering growth (failure to thrive) in infants and young children, as well as the evaluation of acute paediatric respiratory conditions. She is also actively involved in clinical quality improvement and public health guidance, with a focus on infant safe sleep education and the prevention of sudden unexpected death in infancy (SUDI).
