Dr. Arjuna Nagendran graduated from the University College London medical school in 2011 and completed his training in neurophysiology and neurology at the National Hospital for Neurology & Neurosurgery (NHNN) in Queen Square as well as Great Ormond Street Hospital, qualifying in 2019.
He was appointed a Consultant at the National Hospital for Neurology & Neurosurgery in 2021. He diagnoses and treats patients with an extensive range of complex nerve and muscle disorders. His role also includes working as part of the Highly specialised muscle channelopathy service utilising advanced neurophysiological techniques in the assessment of muscle and nerve disorders, as well as leading EMG clinics within the hospital's neurophysiology service.
Dr. Nagendran's ongoing interests lie in the fields of epilepsy and EEG, both in adult and paediatric settings. His current line of research focuses on neurophysiology in relation to muscle and nerve disorders. In recent years he has presented his findings at a number of national and international conferences. He also recently collaborated with some international colleagues within the Cochrane Neuromuscular group in order to update guidance surrounding corticosteroid usage for carpal tunnel syndrome patients.
