Dr Anu Kansal

Dr Anu Kansal is an experienced Consultant in Pain Medicine who provides compassionate, patient-centred care for individuals living with chronic pain. Having initially trained in anaesthesia, she developed a deep interest in long-term pain management, prompting her to focus her medical practice entirely on helping patients manage complex pain conditions. Dr Kansal adopts a holistic, multi-disciplinary approach within a bio-psychosocial framework, ensuring each patient receives an individualised treatment plan designed to relieve pain and improve functional quality of life.

After earning her primary medical degree, Dr Kansal completed postgraduate specialist training in anaesthesia, qualifying with an MD in Anaesthesia in 2002 alongside a Gold Medal distinction. She subsequently relocated to the United Kingdom to undertake further higher specialist training in Anaesthesia and Pain Management across major NHS teaching centres. To refine her skills in advanced interventional pain management, she completed a post-CCT fellowship in Neuromodulation. Alongside her clinical practice, she actively contributes to medical research and education, teaching interventional techniques to healthcare professionals both nationally and internationally.

Dr Kansal possesses extensive clinical expertise in advanced interventional techniques and non-surgical procedures for managing long-term pain. Her clinical practice encompasses image-guided spinal injections, ultrasound-guided nerve blocks, radiofrequency denervation, neuromodulation, and intrathecal drug delivery. She leads specialist clinics focusing on neuropathic pain, complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), and cancer-related pain, combining evidence-based medical therapies with interventional options to help patients restore daily function.
