About Dr Tony Ellis
He took up his Consultant post with the Oxford University Hospitals in 1998.
He has a keen interest in education and has held local posts including Programme director for training - Oxford region, and President of The Oxford Gut Club.
He has been the SAC Chair for Gastroenterology at The Royal College of Physicians for 6 years - responsible for UK training and certification in his specialty.
He currently sits on The Gastroenterology SCE standard setting board and is The UK representative to the ESEGH.
He has interests in Hepatology, Bowel Cancer Screening and General gastroenterology. He is the lead colonoscopist for the Oxfordshire bowel cancer screening programme.
When not at work he enjoys competitive tennis, sailing and skiing.
