Following his Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT), he completed a post-CCT fellowship in Advanced Nutrition where he spent 6 months in the Intestinal Failure Unit at Salford Royal 6 months with the Intestinal Rehabilitation and Transplant teams in Oxford.
Dr Allan is widely published in the fields of clinical nutrition, intestinal failure and intestinal transplantation. He has research interests in intestinal failure associated liver disease and immunological cell tracking.

Straight away I felt at ease with Dr.Allan. He carried out a very thorough examination and spent plenty of time listening to the problem especially talking about things that some patients find embarrassing. He was also very careful to take down notes on family history. Very impressed.

I was very impressed with the details analysis of my problems and I came away from the consultation with the feeling that something positive was going to happen in solving my problem.

Dr Allan was calm, methodical and very thorough. I felt comfortable and valued throughout the process. Queries were answered rapidly, and Dr Allan is also very ably assisted by a pleasant and capable secretary.
