Dr Philip Allan is a Consultant Gastroenterologist at Nuffield Health The Manor Hospital, Oxford and was appointed Consultant Gastroenterologist at the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in 2015. Following his Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT), he completed a post-CCT fellowship in Advanced Nutrition where he spent 6 months in the Intestinal Failure Unit at Salford Royal 6 months with the Intestinal Rehabilitation and Transplant teams in Oxford.
Dr Allan is widely published in the fields of clinical nutrition, intestinal failure and intestinal transplantation. He has research interests in intestinal failure associated liver disease and immunological cell tracking.

I had an excellent consultation. Unfortunately the tests that we were discussing took many months to get done. This was not Dr Allan's fault. My advice to other patients would be to get tests done privately if you want them done speedily.

Overall was good - only slight negative was that the procedure was an hour behind schedule despite being early in the morning. The pre and post op calls to check on taking medication were very good.
Dr Allan is kind and detailed, he explains things clearly and in detail which is easy to comprehend. He has a very nice manner and is thoroughly professional as well as remaining human and personable.
All good - parking easy and appointment on time. Assessment and options all clearly explained.
Dr Allan always goes above and beyond. He is always so kind, caring, compassionate and explains things clearly. I'm very grateful to him for all his amazing help.
