Dr Andrew Marchetti is a consultant anaesthetist with over a decade of experience caring for patients undergoing surgery. He qualified from the University of Sheffield in 1999 and has worked as a consultant since 2012, at East Cheshire NHS Trust and in private practice at Spire Regency Hospital, Macclesfield and Spire Cheshire Hospital.

Alongside general anaesthesia, he has a particular interest in helping patients prepare for surgery so they arrive as fit and confident as possible. He holds a Diploma in Lifestyle Medicine and works with patients on the practical changes — before an operation — that can improve recovery and outcomes.

He also has a special interest in supporting patients who feel anxious or fearful about medical care. Drawing on medical hypnosis alongside conventional approaches, he helps people manage anxiety and specific phobias, such as fear of needles, dental treatment or surgery, so that necessary treatment feels more manageable.
