Academic Background:
Dr Fairfax is a consultant physician on the staff at the University Hospitals of North Midlands. He qualified from the London Hospital and completed his specialist training at the Hammesmith Hospital, St. George's Hospital, Kings College London and the Brompton Hospital. He has specialist accreditation in General (Internal) Medicine and in Respiratory Medicine.
His earlier research interests were in cardiothoracic medicine including embolic stroke in chronic sinoatrial disorder. His MD thesis was on the immunological causes of chronic heart block. He has published on asthma, allergic responses and other lung diseases.
