Dr Anbezhil Subbarayan

Dr Anbezhil Subbarayan is a highly accomplished Consultant Paediatrician and Consultant Paediatric Endocrinologist who provides compassionate and comprehensive care for infants, children, and young people. Understanding the physical and emotional impact that hormonal and developmental concerns can have on growing children, Dr Subbarayan takes a holistic, family-centred approach to medicine. He works closely with parents and young patients to deliver tailored diagnostic assessments and evidence-based management plans that support optimal health, physical development, and long-term well-being.

In his clinical practice, Dr Subbarayan possesses specialised expertise across a wide spectrum of paediatric and paediatric endocrine conditions. His areas of clinical interest include growth concerns such as short stature and growth hormone deficiency, pubertal disorders including precocious and delayed puberty, and thyroid conditions including hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism. He also manages complex metabolic and hormone disorders, including Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, insulin resistance, adrenal and pituitary disorders, and calcium metabolism conditions. Additionally, Dr Subbarayan leads specialist multi-disciplinary weight management services for children and adolescents, offering expert guidance on lifestyle interventions alongside the careful assessment and monitoring of weight-loss medications for eligible young people.

Dr Subbarayan earned his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at Thanjavur Medical College in 1998, before completing his Doctor of Medicine (MD) in Paediatrics at Madras Medical College in 2002. He subsequently undertook advanced specialist fellowship training in paediatric endocrinology and diabetes at world-renowned centres, including Royal Manchester Children's Hospital and Great Ormond Street Hospital. Dr Subbarayan is a Fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (FRCPCH) and holds professional memberships with the British Society for Paediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes, the Endocrine Society, and the Indian Academy of Paediatrics.
