Dr Amrita Datta

Dr Amrita Datta is a dedicated Consultant Obstetrician specialising in Obstetrics & Gynaecology. Serving in key leadership roles, including Clinical Director and Maternal Medicine Lead, she delivers comprehensive, compassionate, and evidence-based care to women throughout their pregnancy journey. Her approach is built upon a patient-centred philosophy that prioritises individualised care, clear communication, and clinical excellence to ensure women feel fully supported and reassured.

Dr Datta earned her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the University of Calcutta, qualifying in 1993. She went on to achieve her Doctor of Medicine (MD) and completed extensive specialist postgraduate training in Obstetrics & Gynaecology within the United Kingdom. Demonstrating her ongoing commitment to professional standards and continuous learning, she is a Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRCOG) and holds active membership with the British Maternal and Foetal Medicine Society.

Clinically, Dr Datta has a particular expertise in maternal medicine and the management of medical conditions in pregnancy. She is highly experienced in advanced labour ward practice, supporting expectant mothers through both routine care and complex, high-risk pregnancies. Alongside her direct clinical work, Dr Datta plays an integral role in maternity audit and clinical governance, continuously striving to enhance patient safety and optimise healthcare outcomes for mothers and their babies.
