Amirtha Raman

Amirtha Raman is a Chartered and HCPC-registered Physiotherapist at Sports and Spinal Physio in Brentwood. She has a strong interest in the management of musculoskeletal and sport-related injuries. Her personal experiences as a dancer and recreational runner, coupled with person al experience of injury and recovery through dedicated rehabilitation, drive her commitment to her patients. She firmly believes in the mantra "Exercise is medicine," a principle she not only preaches but practices herself. The team has a strong focus on continuing training and education, ensuring she is always up to date with recent advancements and is always adding to her knowledge.

Amirtha completed her Bachelor of Physiotherapy degree at the Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research, India in 2020 before relocating to the UK. After moving to the UK, she pursued a Master's degree in Musculoskeletal Healthcare and Rehabilitation at University College London (UCL), graduating in 2022. Her research project at UCL focused on delving deep into the impact of two specific strengthening exercises for injury prevention in the elite athletic population. Amirtha also holds certificates in Mulligan Manual Therapy and Kinesio taping.

Amirtha's expertise covers a broad spectrum of musculoskeletal conditions, with a particular focus on spinal issues, knee injuries, and shoulder ailments. She has experience in the dynamic environment of tertiary care hospitals, completing valuable 6-month placements across different wards and community settings.
