Mr Allan Thomson

Allan G Thomson is an HCPC-registered Advanced Practice Podiatrist (HCPC No: CH14201) with over 25 years of experience spanning the NHS, higher education, and private practice. He holds a Bachelor of Science with Honours (BSc Hons) in Podiatry, a Master of Science (MSc), and a Postgraduate Certificate (PGCert) in Medical Ultrasound. He is a Member of the Royal College of Podiatry (MRCPod), a Fellow of the Faculty of Podiatric Medicine at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow (FFPM RCPS Glasg), and holds independent non-medical prescribing rights.

A pioneer in podiatric clinical innovation, he was among the early adopters of diagnostic ultrasound, injection therapies, and independent prescribing in podiatry practice. His clinical work encompasses general footcare, diabetic foot assessments, biomechanical gait analysis, nail surgery consultations, diagnostic ultrasound imaging of the foot and ankle, and ultrasound-guided injection therapies, including corticosteroid and sodium hyaluronate injections. He also brings extensive experience from his former role as an extended scope podiatrist within an orthopaedic foot surgery department.

In addition to his clinical practice across clinics including Almada Podiatry, Plus Podiatry Glasgow, and Glasgow Private Clinic, he has spent over a decade teaching and mentoring podiatrists in higher education across the UK to advance clinical practice standards.
