Mr Alexander Nieper

I am a senior Consultant in Musculoskeletal and Sports Medicine with over 20 years of experience treating professional athletes at the top of their game, including 7 years as Team Doctor at Chelsea Football Club. I have worked with the English and Swiss National Football team, GB Basketball, GB Hockey and the RFU Championship and Premiership. I worked 5 years with UK Athletics attending several European and World Championships and the Olympic Games. I have also worked at the English Institute of Sport ‘Intensive Rehabilitation Unit', London.

Education is also one of my passions and as a Fellow of the Faculty of Sports and Exercise Medicine (UK), I spend a fair amount of time teaching nationally and internationally within the Sports Medicine community. I was an Appraiser and am now an Examiner for the Faculty of Sports and Exercise Medicine (UK) and have taught at The Centre for Musculoskeletal Ultrasound Studies in Bournemouth.

My clinical focus is to establish a firm injury diagnosis and to provide specific guidance during injury rehabilitation. For this I have established a multidisciplinary network of Orthopaedic surgeon and sports therapists in Jersey, including the Orchard team. I am developing close links with other clinics including The Jersey Sports and Spinal Clinic and Performance Physiotherapy and work with Podiatrist, Osteopath and Strength & Conditioning coaches to cover various injury-related aspects.

I also use diagnostic and interventional ultrasound to accelerate injury recovery.

From an administration point of view, I am recognised by all major UK Health Insurance Providers and have full access to private imaging in Jersey, including CT and MRI scan. My clinic is based in town at the Orchard Health Centre.
