Dr Alessandro Prete

Dr Alessandro Prete is an accomplished Consultant Endocrinologist specialising in Endocrinology & Diabetes. He offers expert, compassionate care for individuals affected by complex endocrine and metabolic disorders. Dedicated to patient-centred healthcare, Dr Prete focuses on providing accurate diagnostic evaluations and individualised management plans designed to improve long-term health outcomes and overall well-being.

His clinical practice covers a wide range of hormonal and metabolic conditions, with a particular focus on adrenal disorders, including adrenal tumours, mild autonomous cortisol secretion, adrenal insufficiency, and congenital adrenal hyperplasia. He also evaluates patients with endocrine hypertension, pituitary conditions, and women's metabolic health concerns such as polycystic ovary syndrome. Dr Prete utilises advanced diagnostic methods, such as steroid metabolome analysis, and provides tailored therapeutic management, including modern modified-release hydrocortisone therapies and targeted hormone replacement.

Dr Prete earned his medical degree (MBBS) with highest honours from the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in 2010. He subsequently completed his specialist clinical training in Endocrinology and Diabetes Mellitus at the same institution in 2016. Expanding his academic and clinical expertise, he was awarded a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in 2022 for his research into adrenal steroid metabolism and its impact on metabolic health.
