Dr Alasdair Coles

Dr Alasdair Coles is a distinguished Consultant Neurologist and Professor of Neuroimmunology who specialises in the diagnosis and management of complex neurological and neuroinflammatory conditions. With an extensive background in both clinical care and scientific research, he is dedicated to providing comprehensive, evidence-based care to patients facing challenging neurological disorders. His clinical focus centres on conditions affecting the central nervous system, with a particular emphasis on neuroimmunological conditions where innovative therapies can significantly improve patient outcomes.

He completed his undergraduate medical education at the University of Oxford, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Physiology and a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (BM BCh). He subsequently undertook postgraduate medical training across Oxford, Nottingham, and London before earning a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Cambridge. Dr Coles is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP) and a Member of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP). In addition to his clinical roles, he serves as a Medical Advisor to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, providing guidance on emerging treatments and patient care strategies.
