Ajay did his undergraduate training at Leicester Medical School and his postgraduate medical training in London at the Hammersmith Hospital, University College and the Middlesex Hospitals and St George's Hospital.
He undertook specialist training in general internal medicine, renal medicine and transplantation in the Aberdeen teaching hospitals and Leeds teaching hospitals.
He has been working as a Consultant Physician and Kidney specialist in Jersey since 2002.

Qualifications
I was elected to the Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians of London (FRCP) in 2007. I am a member of the Renal Association of the United Kingdom, and a member of the European Renal association.
My research interests are in hypertension, renal osteodystrophy and kidney disease. I was awarded a Medical Research Council award for research in experimental hypertension as an undergraduate. I won a Scholarship to the Ochsner Foundation in New Orleans, USA.
I am a keen educator, preparing undergraduate students who are on attachment from London and Southampton medical schools, for their exams. I also teach junior doctors who are preparing for postgraduate examinations, for example, for the Membership of the Royal College of Physicians.
I frequently lecture on a wide variety of topics in general internal medicine, renal medicine and hypertension to medical students, junior doctors, and family practitioners.
