Dr Ahmed Al-nowfal

Dr Ahmed Al-Nowfal is a Consultant Radiologist at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, specialising in genitourinary, vascular and oncological imaging, as well as interventional radiology.

Following his radiology training in the UK, Dr Al-Nowfal completed a fellowship in Interventional Radiology at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust. He also undertook further cross-sectional imaging training at Mount Vernon Hospital, with a focus on oncological imaging and cancer diagnostics. His interventional work includes tumour ablation, prostate artery embolisation, fibroid embolisation and pulmonary thrombectomy.

Dr Al-Nowfal contributes to multidisciplinary cancer and vascular teams and reports specialist imaging for the regional network. He is also involved in clinical research and has authored book chapters, published peer-reviewed research and presented at national and international meetings. His research has contributed to national programmes supported by NHS England.

Teaching forms a further part of his work, including the training and supervision of radiology doctors within the NHS.
