Dr Aderonke Awe

Dr Aderonke Awe is a highly regarded Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology who specialises in reproductive medicine, fertility care, and miscarriage support. With a patient-centred approach, she is dedicated to providing compassionate and reassuring care to women navigating complex fertility journeys and general gynaecological concerns. Her clinical practice encompasses a wide range of treatments, from managing recurrent miscarriages to performing specialised diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.

Dr Awe obtained her primary medical qualification, a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), and qualified in 2000. She completed her postgraduate training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology within the South West Peninsula, gaining extensive experience across both specialist tertiary centres and district general hospitals. To further her expertise, she undertook a dedicated fellowship in fertility and subsequently held a senior clinical role leading services for fertility preservation and recurrent miscarriage. Dr Awe is a Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRCOG) and holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education. She is also an active member of the British Fertility Society and the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr Awe is deeply committed to medical education, leadership, and patient safety. She has served as an Undergraduate Medical Tutor and holds key leadership roles, including serving as a Governance Lead for Gynaecology and a Named Doctor for Adult Safeguarding. As a Principal Investigator and Co-Investigator in various clinical research projects, she contributes to advancing the field of reproductive medicine. Dr Awe is also passionate about addressing disparities in medical education, actively mentoring junior doctors and students from diverse backgrounds to support professional development and equity within the healthcare sector.
