Dr Adel Elagawany

Dr Adel Elagawany is an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist specialising in General Adult Psychiatry. He provides comprehensive, empathetic care for adults experiencing a wide array of mental health challenges. Taking a person-centred approach, Dr Elagawany develops individualised management plans that harmoniously blend biological, psychological, and social interventions to support each patient's journey toward mental recovery and long-term well-being.

Dr Elagawany graduated with his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) in 2003. He went on to attain a Master's Degree (MSc) in Neurology and Psychiatry in 2012, before completing higher specialist training in psychiatry and gaining membership to the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych) in 2019. Dr Elagawany holds a Certificate of Completion of Training in General Adult Psychiatry and is listed on the General Medical Council Specialist Register. Expanding his therapeutic expertise, he has also obtained a Diploma in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and completed training in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy.

Alongside his clinical work, Dr Elagawany serves as a Clinical Supervisor and Educational Supervisor, dedicated to guiding and mentoring the next generation of junior psychiatrists. He stays actively engaged with clinical research and healthcare development, ensuring that his medical care remains evidence-based, compassionate, and aligned with current standards of excellence.
