Mr Abd-Allah EL Ashmawy

Mr Abd-Allah EL Ashmawy is a dedicated Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon who specialises in the comprehensive assessment and management of trauma as well as complex lower limb conditions, particularly those affecting the hip and knee. Providing reassuring and patient-centred care, he delivers individualised treatment plans designed to alleviate joint pain, restore physical function, and enhance quality of life for his patients.

His broad clinical scope encompasses primary hip replacement, primary total knee replacement, and partial knee replacement. Mr EL Ashmawy possesses subspecialist expertise in revision joint replacement surgery, the management of periprosthetic fractures, and the treatment of bone and joint infections. Furthermore, his clinical interests include knee arthroscopy and sports-related knee injuries.

Mr EL Ashmawy completed extensive higher surgical training alongside advanced academic studies, earning both a Master's degree and a PhD in Orthopaedics, with his doctoral thesis focusing on metaphyseal augments in revision knee surgery. He was awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in 2018. He subsequently undertook multiple senior surgical fellowships in hip and knee arthroplasty, joint revision, and pelvic trauma. Alongside his surgical practice, Mr EL Ashmawy serves as a Lecturer in Orthopaedics, Clinical Supervisor, and Audit Lead, maintaining active involvement in clinical research and peer reviewing for international orthopaedic journals.
