Mr David Stitson

Mr David Stitson is a Trauma and Orthopaedic surgeon currently working at the private practise, Nuffield Health Plymouth Hospital. Mr Stitson's areas of interest are Primary knee and hip replacement surgery, CT Planned complex primary hip replacement, Partial knee replacement surgery, Revision hip and knee replacement surgery, Arthroscopic knee surgery, Lower limb trauma surgery and General orthopaedic surgery.

Mr Stitson graduated with an honours degree from the Medical College of St Bartholomew's Hospital in London in 1991. He conducted basic surgical training in London at RAF Halton and at Stoke Mandeville Hospital and he achieved Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in 1996. He conducted higher specialist training in Orthopaedics through placements in Plymouth, Truro, Oxford and Middlesbrough. He developed further skills as a DePuy Fellow at the Melbourne Orthopaedic Group in Australia for 6 months. He developed skills as a joint replacement surgeon and learnt the technique of hip resurfacing and completed his final fellowship examinations and was awarded FRCS (Tr & Orth).

He is particularly interested in hip replacement in young adults, he provides orthopaedic surgery Plymouth Argyle Football Club and Plymouth Albion Rugby Club and he is a Faculty member of AOUK - Teaching Fracture Management. He has the professional memberships Fellow Royal College of Surgeons of England, Member British Orthopaedic Association and Combined Services Orthopaedic Society.
