Dr Michael Phelan

Dr Michael Phelan is a leading Consultant Psychiatrist and Associate Medical Director at Priory Hospital Roehampton. He is also the Clinical Director for the acute and psychiatric intensive care unit clinical network across Priory Group. His expertise and knowledge enable him to provide unparallel care to his clients, and he is known for his insightful wisdom into overall wellbeing.

Dr Phelan qualified from the University of London with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery and a Bachelor of Psychiatry before moving to Australia to pursue his career and became a consultant in 1995. He completed a Fellowship with the Royal College of Psychiatrists and worked as an NHS Consultant at Charing Cross Hospital London where he was Deputy Medical Director and received recognition from the Royal College of Psychiatrists for his contribution to the multidisciplinary mental health service. He has written numerous journals and academic papers, mostly about the relationship between mental and physical help and of the mental health services system, and is a cowriter of psychiatry textbooks for medical students.
