Mr Goel is easy to talk to; he has a pleasant manner and explains everything clearly. I felt I was in very good hands at all times and was confident that my procedures would have a positive outcome. The procedure itself was quickly and efficiently carried out and the follow up meeting very satisfactory. I had the opportunity to ask questions which Mr Goel answered patiently and fully. The Wilmslow Hospital is a clean, efficient establishment. You are greeted upon arrival in a friendly manner and immediately directed to where you should be. Waiting time is minimal

I had cataract operations about 10 days apart A week later I attended the clinic saw Mr Goel who throughout was very reassuring and was pleased to give me the all clear and discharged me excellent throughout the procedures

My experience was at the Spire hospital Abergele. My consultant was excellent and I am extremely pleased with the result, all due to the skill of my consultant. The administrative side of my experience with Spire was very poor. My appointment was also cancelled less than 2 hours before my operation due to the heat and humidity in the operating room.

I was initially referred by Boots Opticians (Lincoln) via the NHS (Lincolnshire Referral Service) for cataract surgery on my right eye, which was causing significant glare. Unfortunately, the NHS ophthalmologist was quite dismissive of my condition due to the nature of my congenital cataract and mild amblyopia, leaving me with a mixed message about whether surgery would be appropriate. Having already researched the subject myself, I decided to seek a second opinion privately. I chose Mr Goel because of his extensive experience in advanced cataract surgery. From the outset, I found Mr Goel very approachable. He listened carefully, answered my questions clearly, and gave me sound, balanced advice. After further tests and scans, he confirmed that surgery could be carried out and recommended a toric EDOF IOL to address my corneal astigmatism and provide some extended depth of focus. He was completely upfront about the potential risks and explained that the final outcome might be limited to some extent by my amblyopia. The surgery went smoothly and without complications. Within 48 hours, the vision in my right eye had improved significantly — not only compared with my pre operative vision, but arguably beyond anything I had experienced in my lifetime. The glare and blur were gone, and I could read standard text without glasses, something I had not been able to do for several years due to presbyopia. I was referred to see Mr Goel, a Consultant Ophthalmologist from the Eye Correction Centre at Spire Hesslewood, by my optician (Andrew & Rogers, Beverley) due to cataracts. I was seen quickly for assessment and my eyes were thoroughly examined by an optometrist who was professional but also kind, friendly & reassuring. I was extremely well cared for by the whole team before, during and after my surgeries for advanced cataract treatment with placement of multifocal lenses. Both procedures went smoothly and ran on time. The after care instructions were easy to follow and I knew how to get help if any problems arose. I was reviewed one week after each surgery and the results are amazing & life changing. No more glasses after 40 years of wearing them!

My cataract surgery was performed by Mr Quah and I have to say that, although the thought of the process is quite scary, Mr Quah put me at ease, performed with the upmost professionalism and I have had an excellent result. I was initially apprehensive but now I am absolutely delighted with the quality of the sight I have been given by Mr Quah.
