Mr Hickley is a consultant ophthalmologist at the Countess of Chester Hospital specialising in oculoplastic surgery, lacrimal surgery and cataract surgery. Mr Hickley graduated from The University of Leeds Medical School in 2009 and worked as a house officer in Yorkshire before working in Cairns, Australia. He then returned to the United Kingdom where he began his ophthalmology registrar training in the Mersey region. He worked at the world-famous St Paul's Eye Hospital in Liverpool, as well as the Alder Hey Children's Hospital. He subsequently completed a year-long fellowship within training at Manchester Eye Hospital which focused on oculoplastic, lacrimal, and orbital surgery. Following this, he undertook an 18-month fellowship in oculoplastic, lacrimal, and orbital surgery at Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Mr Hickley also studied fine art at A-level and achieved the highest grade in his year. He remains a keen artist today and also believes that his artistic background has served as an important foundation block to his career as a surgeon.

Visited yesterday to have my second cataract removed. I really cannot recommend this man and his team highly enough. I’m delighted with the results already and am amazed at the improvement to both eyes. I was very anxious for my first treatment and totally relaxed yesterday. Everything went smoothly and I’m delighted with the results.

I had surgery performed on my right eye to remove a 40 year old cataract which grew over time due to a trauma incident. The cataract was exstreamly dense and it was uncertain as to what degree of improvement coud be achieved due to the original injury. Risks were fully explained to me and I put my faith in Mr Hickley. 5 weeks later I am delighted to report that I’ve noticed a significant improvement in my eyesight and peripheral vision. Fabulous job done by Mr. Hickley and his team, really pleased with the outcome and experience. Thank You.

have visited Mr Hickley at spire Cheshire on a number of occasions recently and underwent cataract surgery to both eyes I have to say my eyes were in a very poor state and Mr Hickley has preformed a miracle so to speak as I now have my sight back which has changed my life His professionalism caring way is wonderful and I really felt at ease with every step of the procedure I recommend this wonderful consultant to anyone needing eye care for is excellent service Helen
