About Mr Nicholas Hickley
Mr Hickley is a consultant ophthalmologist at the Countess of Chester Hospital specialising in oculoplastic surgery, lacrimal surgery and cataract surgery. He is also the clinical lead for Emergency Ophthalmology. He has a private practice at the Eye Correction Centre in Tarporley, Cheshire and Bangor, North Wales. He also has a private practice at Spire Cheshire and HCA Wilmslow.
Mr Hickley graduated from The University of Leeds Medical School in 2009 and worked as a house officer in Yorkshire before working in Cairns, Australia. He then returned to the United Kingdom where he began his ophthalmology registrar training in the Mersey region. He worked at the world-famous St Paul's Eye Hospital in Liverpool, as well as the Alder Hey Children's Hospital. He subsequently completed a year-long fellowship within training at Manchester Eye Hospital which focused on oculoplastic, lacrimal, and orbital surgery. Following this, he undertook an 18-month fellowship in oculoplastic, lacrimal, and orbital surgery at Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Mr Hickley is a keen artist and believes that his artistic background has served as an important foundation block to his career as a surgeon.

After several months of unresolved issues with my eyes, on recommendation, I went to see Mr Hickley. He was friendly, pleasant and professional and immediately put me at ease. After a thorough examination, he was able to diagnose exactly what my problem was and clearly explained the possible solutions available. I would definitely recommend Mr Hickley and his team.

I am absolutely delighted with the immediate and amazing results in both eyes. Cataracts done two years ago with distance lenses. Just had YAG laser capsulotamy to both eyes. The results are fantastic and no discomfort at all in the process.. Don’t hesitate and see what you’re missing 👍
