About
Mr Hickley is a consultant ophthalmologist at Countess of Chester Hospital, where he also serves as the clinical lead for Emergency Ophthalmology. He also has a private practice at the Eye Correction Centre. He has expertise in basic ophthalmology and primary care and specialises in oculoplastic surgery, lacrimal surgery, and cataract surgery.
Mr Hickley graduated from The University of Leeds Medical School in 2009 and worked as a house officer in Yorkshire before working in Cairns, Australia, for a year. He then returned to the United Kingdom where he began his ophthalmology registrar training in the Mersey region. He worked at the world-famous St Paul's Eye Hospital in Liverpool, as well as the Alder Hey Children's Hospital. He subsequently completed a year-long fellowship at Manchester Eye Hospital which focused on oculoplastic, lacrimal, and orbital surgery. Following this, he undertook an 18-month fellowship in oculoplastic, lacrimal, and orbital surgery at Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
