Meeting Mr Craig Parkes. what i expected from a Professional Medical Consultant very impressed.
I would rate the experience as a ten out of ten Mr Parks did an excellent job and I couldn’t have asked for any better
Straightforward and exactly what I needed. No pressures for future procedures. Very happy .
My time with Mr Parks and his team was superb, everything was explained clearly and extremely considerate.. Not only was my mind put at ease, my concerns were evaporated due to the care, concern and compassion shown to me at a very worring time. .i would have no hesitation putting myself in the very capable hands of Mr Parks and his team. I highly recommend Mr Parkes to anyone needing tge sevuces of himself and his excellent team. Robert D V.
Basically when first arrived couldn't see out of left eye, after the procedure walked out with near perfect vision. Not experienced any soreness, discharge. Would recommend to anyone,
Mr Parkes performed a combined Macular hole and Cataract surgery on me in February 2026 (at New Medica, Shrewsbury), and was excellent throughout my treatment. He was very approachable, and explained everything about the surgery and what to expect on the day of the operation. He was always very calm and professional, yet also friendly. I have other medical problems, and he was very thoughtful and caring regarding this. I was also very anxious because it was a combined (longer) surgery, but I put my trust in him, and he didn’t let me down. I had no bruising or swelling at all, and the macular hole has now closed. I felt totally safe in his very skilled hands and would not hesitate to recommend him as a surgeon. I should also mention Helen Rostron, who made the whole process so much easier, as she was so friendly and approachable and willing to help with any queries I had. It should also be noted that although I had the operation in Shrewsbury (because it was a Vitrectomy), I was able to have the initial consultation and follow ups at Spire Abergele, which was more convenient for me.
I found Mr Parkes to be very professional and informative and he spent time explaining what the procedure entailed and answered all my questions thoroughly in a manner I understood.. I would also like to mention Helen Rostron as she went the extra mile to help and reassure me. Contacting me on many occasions even during the evening to put my mind at rest. Also Sheila Baylis was most helpful in assisting me when paying my bill. I was not happy leaving my card details with the call centre before I had a date for my consultation. When I first contacted the Spire Call Centre I did find it very frustrating and not easy to navigate. If it hadn’t been for Helen and Sheila I don’t think I would have continued with my self referral..
The process is very simple, quick, and painless, and the results are instant. No post treatment infections or problems arose
Mr Parkes was very professional at all times. He made sure during the first consultation that I understood the cataract correction procedure, explaining in detail what to expect. The surgery went well at both occasions and also the follow up appointments were satisfactory.
Staff were pleasant and put me at ease. There were no delays and my treatment was done quickly and in a professional manner.
