I had gastric sleeve surgery on the 6th April 2024 at Rivers Hospital by Mr Agrawal. Mr Agrawal has changed my life for the better and has brought out my more confident side even so soon after surgery (11 days post op as of writing this review). Within 6 weeks (beginning of the LRD diet) I have lost approximately 2 stone! Mr Agrawal has been very kind, patient throughout the full process but also was very thorough of what he needed from us pre and post op to ensure our success. He was also very open and honest regarding the risks of all bariatric surgeries. I felt very comfortable with asking as many questions as I needed, though there was not many as he had given me a lot of information that answered the majority. I 100% recommend Mr Agrawal if you are deciding to go through any Bariatric surgery!

Mr Dixit successfully performed the required operation. He showed great skill in cholecystectomy and knowledge in related issues. Both pre and post-op care was also excellent. Mr Dixit ensured that all information was clearly explained and fully understood at each stage.

From the Moment I met Prof Patel at our first consultation, I knew I was in excellent hands. He explained the surgery that I required (whipple) in great detail and answered the questions that myself and my Wife had with great care and compassion and really made me feel a lot happier and comfortable as to what I should expect over the coming months. In hospital, the Prof once again demonstrated to me his passion for, just being one of the best at what he does. Everytime he came to see how I was progressing, still in hospital, post op, he listen intently to how I was feeling, not just physically but mentally as well and showed me so much compassion, love and care, even on Christmas morning the Prof came in to see how I was doing, he didn't need to, when many had finished work for the holiday. I am recovering really well and have huge admiration respect and gratitude to Professor Ameet Patel, I thank you and all your team. Paul D

What was impressive in the consultation was the time and care in simple language taking me through the "problem" and the solution, and the potential (even if minimal) risks; and in checking that I really did understand what would be involved in the procedure. I therefore left confident in proceeding; and his follow up letter for my GP and insurers set out in detail the full extent of our discussion.

I'm so pleased I chose Prof Rubino to lead me through this process. He is calm, considered and non-judgemental. I never felt worried or concerned in his care.

I was referred to Mr Jenkinson by another surgeon who was unable to assist me because he could not provide the necessary long term follow up. I am very pleased that he did. I have found Mr Jenkinson to be thoroughly professional, candid and realistic. My sleeve surgery in January 2018 went very well and, following his team’s clear advice, I have lost a third of my excess weight in 3 months. I only have one regret which is that I did not seek his advice years ago.

Mr Monk was my consultant and surgeon in repairing a hernia and I would highly recommend David! I was unsure of what surgery type to go with (open or keyhole) and he talked me through the respective advantages and risks of the different approaches. He was very patient in answering my questions and noting my specific concerns regarding lifestyle impacts and recovery time. He kindly responded to some additional questions I had after the initial consultation while I was still making my decision. In the end I chose to go with the keyhole approach with David as my surgeon, and I'm very happy I did. On surgery day he came to see me to explain what was going to happen, was with me during the anasthetic, and came to talk with me and my partner after the operation once I was awake to make sure I was OK and had all the right info to recover afterwards. David called me the next day to check in, and in the post op consultation provided information about the next stages in the recovery process. David's calm, professional and warm manner put me at ease throughout the process. You feel he genuinely cares about your issue, treats you with dignity and respect, as well as being friendly and very human. He is also an expert in the field with attention to detail and high quality, as reflected in my successful operation and recovery progress.
