After deciding to explore private maternity care, we did a thorough online research and found Daniel through UCLH’s Fitzrovia Suite. Since this was my first pregnancy, we wanted a consultant who would fully support our plans for a vaginal delivery with minimal interventions and whom we could trust 100% to provide the right advice. From our initial virtual meeting with Daniel, we felt completely confident in our choice. His supportive approach was evident from the start, as he listened carefully to our preferences and reassured us about the process. Given that it was a low-risk pregnancy, we agreed to begin consultations at week 36. Throughout the consultations, Daniel's support was unwavering. He offered valuable suggestions when needed but always respected our decisions, ensuring we were well-informed at every step. During the 24-hour labour, Daniel was available throughout the entire process. He thoroughly explained potential next steps and interventions, helping us make informed choices. Ultimately, our plans changed and Daniel's guidance was instrumental in making this decision. His considerate and supportive nature extended to the actual delivery, where he provided continuous encouragement and expert care. His excellent working relationship with the midwives at Fitzrovia, who also spoke highly of him, further reinforced our trust. Thanks to Dan's supportive approach and professionalism, I had a positive birth experience and felt confident and secure throughout the entire process.

Dr Seni took over my antenatal care around 25 weeks gestation. We had a preterm loss earlier so I was quite anxious with this pregnancy. At the first meeting with him we knew we had made the right decision. "Dr Seni don't miss a thing" my husband nicknamed him and its true. He went over my medical history thoroughly, spotting out gaps. He explained medical terms in a way that's easy to understand. My husband is non medical, he appreciated that. We found him professional, knowledgeable,warm.I had several consultations with him, none of them felt rushed. It was helpful to me to know that he was easily accessible should I need him. Come the delivery of baby I had a planned induction. Dr Seni was there for the whole process. My labour progressesd quite rapidly after the hormone drip commenced, it caught me of guard. I began pushing before I was mentally ready. And this is the part I truly appreciated his presence. Dr Seni steadied me then talked me through the delivery. My baby was safely delivered and I got through with the smallest, superficial tear which he stitched up. Overall our experience has been amazing. I felt safe and listened to. Dr Seni is clearly highly regarded by colleagues, the midwives love working with him

Mr Attilakos showed such kindness, warmth & patience from the moment I became his patient before my IVF cycle in Cyprus. As a 54 year old I was a little nervous about being pregnant at this age, & he assessed my health & fitness & made me feel totally confident about pursuing a pregnancy. The ongoing support & reassurance via bloods, scans & consultations by Mr Attilakos ensured I was relaxed, chilled & stress-free the whole time. Also any question I had however minor he would reply to me in 24 hours maximum. Despite his senior position Mr Attilakos makes you feel totally at ease & makes you feel you can ask any question at all. The whole experience was incredible & I fully intend engaging with Mr Attilakos when I go back to Cyprus for baby no.2. Thanks doctor for helping make my ultimate dream come true & believing in me despite my age.

We had the privilege of being under Ms Shalini Chawla’s care from week 33 of my pregnancy for the delivery of our first baby at the Portland. 1. Why we chose Shalini My husband and I were very impressed and reassured with Shalini’s extent of experience and position as post-natal lead at world renown teaching hospital UCL. We also found Shalini incredibly approachable and down to earth straight away from our first interaction with her. 2. Pregnancy During my pregnancy Shalini ensured that we saw her in person every week and was extremely thorough in making us aware of all of the delivery options open to us; talking us through the practicalities and realities of each type of delivery. This was extremely valuable as first time parents, as this level of detail was not provided by our midwives or NCT and really assisted us in being armed with the correct knowledge to make the best decision on when we should deliver and which type of delivery would be most suitable. We had planned a natural delivery but in the last week of pregnancy I felt some reduced movements - upon sharing this news with Shalini, she travelled 2 hours to see us at 11pm at night, leaving her husband’s bday to review my CTG scan. This is generally completed by a mid wife and discussed with a consultant over the phone. We were truly touched by this and it really demonstrated the utmost dedication and care Shalini delivers to her patients. Following the CTG we decided to arrange a last min elected c section - Shalini ensured that we were fully informed and happy with our decision at every stage and always reassured us of our options. 3. Delivery On the day of my surgery I was extremely anxious and Shalini was so reassuring - coming to see me before the C section and even during the C section, calming me as the Anaesthetist completed their procedure on my back. She made the moment that my baby arrived so special - I will always remember it - and I feel so grateful that she was the one to deliver my baby. Shalini came to see me everyday that I was at the Portland and I felt so supported during my recovery - she also consistently liaised with my mid-wife to ensure any additional tests and medication were being managed. 4. Post-delivery Since leaving the hospital Shalini has continued to always be on hand providing providing me with the utmost care. Shalini kindly offered to take my stitches out which even the Portland midwives said is normally completed by a local community mid wife and not a consultant - I felt very grateful to have Shalini complete this as I was very nervous about having my stitches out. All of the doctors and midwives that have seen my scar (7 days post c section) were extremely impressed by how neat clean and well healed it was. And to date my scar has not been painful. 5. Communication Shalini was in regular contact with us from day 1, always responding quickly no matter what time or day of the week it was - My family would even tell me off for contacting Shalini so much because she is so responsive! Over the last 3 months that I have been under Shalini’s care she has really felt like a close family member / confidant who happens to be an exceptional obstetrician and i will miss being under her care and our regular appointments. 6. Conclusion Words cannot express how grateful we are to have had Shalini as our Obstetrician for the delivery of our first baby - my husband and I regularly discuss how lucky we are to have come across her profile and how we cannot fathom having another baby unless Shalini is available to take care of us again!

Mr Wimalasundera supported me throughout my twin pregnancy, through to birth. He is a fantastic consultant and I would recommend him wholeheartedly. Throughout my pregnancy I felt that Mr Wimalasundera was an ally and trusted adviser. He is clearly a specialist in his field and also offers a measured, kind and supportive approach. I always felt in extremely safe hands and I trusted Mr Wimalasundera’s judgment. His skills as a surgeon are excellent. My c section went extremely smoothly and my recovery was fantastic, which I credit to Mr Wimalasundera entirely! I wouldn’t hesitate to go back to Mr Wimalasundera if I were to become pregnant again. Indeed I’d be delighted!

Dr Velauthar is very friendly, patient, and thorough. She answered all my questions carefully and made me feel at ease. I have been with similar Gynae problems to two other Gynaecologist but with simple treatment and advice my condition is now much better and feel confident that I received the best care. I would highly recommend
