Dr Zelda Pick

Dr Zelda Pick is a highly qualified Ophthalmologist and sub-specialist Oculoplastic Surgeon who provides comprehensive eye care with a focus on clinical excellence and patient-centred care. She specialises in both cataract surgery and oculoplastic procedures, addressing a wide range of conditions affecting the eyelids, tear ducts, and orbit. Known for her gentle and reassuring approach, Dr Pick is dedicated to achieving optimal functional and aesthetic outcomes for her patients, whether they require routine treatment or complex reconstructive surgery.

Dr Pick completed her medical degree at the University of Otago in 2004. She went on to obtain a Postgraduate Diploma in Ophthalmic Basic Sciences with Distinction from the Universities of Otago and Sydney in 2006. Following her specialist training, she completed advanced sub-specialty fellowship training in oculoplastic surgery in Melbourne. Dr Pick is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (FRANZCO) and a member of the Australian and New Zealand Society of Ophthalmic Plastic Surgeons (ANZSOPS). She also holds public hospital appointments, contributing to the training of future specialists and staying at the forefront of ophthalmic advancements.

Her clinical interests encompass a broad spectrum of ophthalmic conditions, with a particular focus on diseases of the eyelids, including the removal and reconstruction of eyelid skin cancers. Dr Pick regularly treats patients for ptosis (drooping upper eyelids), entropion and ectropion (eyelids turning inward or outward), and lacrimal system disorders such as watery eyes requiring tear duct surgery. In addition to performing reconstructive medical blepharoplasty and managing orbital diseases, she provides care for general ophthalmic symptoms, chalazion and lid lesion removal, and ophthalmic emergencies. She is also pleased to consult on paediatric cases involving eyelid and tear duct issues, ensuring that patients of all ages receive compassionate and evidence-based treatment.
