Dr Devinder Chauhan

Dr. Devinder Chauhan is a highly respected retinal and macular specialist ophthalmologist with over 25 years of experience in diagnosing and treating diseases of the retina, macula, and vitreous. He is skilled in medical, laser, injection, and surgical treatments for a wide range of retinal conditions, including age-related macular degeneration (AMD), diabetic retinopathy, and retinal vein occlusion. He is fluent in English and Hindi.

Dr. Chauhan is internationally recognised for his pioneering work in retinal disease management. He was the first retinal specialist in the world to trial the use of short-pulse laser therapy to prevent early macular disease from progressing to AMD. In addition, he is passionate about education and serves as an Honorary Lecturer at the Centre for Eye Research Australia and has trained junior doctors, optometrists, and orthoptists.

His extensive training includes ophthalmology at St Thomas' Hospital and Moorfields Eye Hospital, London, and retinal fellowships in the UK and Australia. A Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (UK), he is also a member of EURETINA, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the Oceania Retinal Association. Dedicated to global eye care, he has trained surgeons in Myanmar as part of the Myanmar Eye Care Project.
