Dr Xavier Moar

Dr Xavier Moar is a highly skilled and compassionate General Surgeon who is dedicated to providing comprehensive, patient-centred care. As a Specialist General Surgeon, Dr Moar has a particular interest in bariatric, upper gastrointestinal, and endocrine surgeries. His clinical expertise encompasses a wide range of procedures, including weight-loss interventions, reflux and hiatus hernia repairs, and complex endocrine operations involving the thyroid, parathyroid, and adrenal glands. Additionally, he performs essential general surgical procedures such as endoscopies, colonoscopies, gallbladder removals, bowel surgeries, and skin cancer excisions, utilising advanced techniques to support patient recovery.

Dr Moar completed his Bachelor of Medical Science and his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at the University of Sydney in 2009. He began his medical career as a Junior Doctor in Queensland before undertaking his specialist training in General Surgery in Melbourne, followed by a dedicated fellowship year focusing on upper gastrointestinal and endocrine surgery. Dr Moar is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS). He maintains active professional memberships with several prestigious organisations, including General Surgeons Australia (GSA), the Australian and New Zealand Metabolic and Obesity Surgery Society (ANZMOSS), and the International Association of Endocrine Surgeons (IAES). He is also actively involved in medical education, serving as an Instructor for advanced surgical courses and teaching the next generation of medical students at regional universities.
