Dr. Yezen Sheena

Dr Yezen Sheena (Dr Yez) is a Specialist Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon who sees private patients at the Lotus Institute in Southport, Queensland. He specialises in cosmetic surgery, breast reconstruction, skin cancer surgery, hand surgery and lymphatic surgery.

Dr Yez graduated from University College London in 2006 before completing general surgical training in London, Oxford and Birmingham. He subsequently completed specialist training in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in the East of England, working in Cambridge, Norwich and Stevenage, and was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in Plastic Surgery in 2017. He completed an Oncoplastic Breast Surgery Fellowship in Chelmsford, followed by senior fellowships at Royal Perth Hospital, Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital and the Rodin Clinic in Western Australia, where he gained extensive experience in trauma, cancer reconstruction and cosmetic surgery.

In 2023, Dr Yez was appointed as a Consultant Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon with Queensland Health, providing care at Robina Hospital, Varsity Lakes Hospital and Gold Coast University Hospital. He also holds a Senior Lecturer position at Griffith University and is actively involved in teaching, clinical research and the supervision of surgical trainees.

Dr Yez was awarded the Fellowship of the Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS, Plast) in 2025 becoming the first and only plastic surgeon in the Gold Coast region with dual specialist fellowship in Plastic Surgery from both the Royal College of Surgeons of England and the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.  He is also a member of the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons and the Australasian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons.
