Dr Sylvia Chen

Dr Sylvia Chen is Consultant Cardiologist with specialist expertise in Adolescent and Adult Congenital Heart Disease, Perinatal Cardiology and Cardiac MRI. Dr Chen completed her medical degree at Monash University, Australia in 1993 followed by her cardiology training in London at University College London Hospital and The Royal Brompton Hospital. She later moved back to Australia and was awarded her Fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2003.

Dr Chen currently offers consultants at HeartWest Hoppers Crossing and also holds the following positions:

• Adult Congenital Heart Disease Specialist - The Northern Hospital, Northern Tasmania Congenital Heart Disease and Cardiac MRI, The Royal Melbourne Hospital and The Epworth Hospital
• Cardiac MRI Specialist - The Northern Hospital, FMIG Cardiac MRI Service, Launceston Cardiac MRI Service and Capital Radiology
• Research Cardiologist at The Royal Women's Hospital

Dr Chen is also the Associate Editor for the Society of Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance in the United States, the Leader and Founder of Melbourne CMR and Treasurer of the Australian and New Zealand Working Group.
