Dr Shahzaib Anwar

Dr. Shahzaib Anwar is a Specialist Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist with a focus on advanced endoscopy, practising at Peninsula Private Hospital, Epworth Richmond Hospital and Northern Private Hospital. He completed his basic physician training and gastroenterology training at Flinders Medical Centre in Adelaide, South Australia. Dr. Anwar further honed his skills through two years of intensive training in Interventional Endoscopy at Alfred Hospital Melbourne, Royal Melbourne Hospital, and Western Health Melbourne.

Dr. Anwar specialises in performing complex advanced endoscopy procedures, including Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS), Endoscopic Mucosal Resection (EMR), and endoluminal stenting. His clinical interests span a wide range of gastroenterology and liver conditions, such as colon cancer screening, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GORD), Coeliac disease, Barrett's oesophagus, irritable bowel syndrome, and the endoscopic removal of large polyps. He also manages liver and pancreato-biliary disorders, including bile duct stones and cancers of the bile duct and pancreas.

Dr. Anwar is actively involved in the training of Gastroenterology registrars and medical students, contributing significantly to the field through his publications in international journals. His dedication to advancing gastrointestinal care is evident in his comprehensive approach to patient management and his commitment to education and research.
