Dr Rajay Rampersad

Dr Rajay Rampersad is a highly qualified Paediatric Surgeon and Paediatric Urologist who is dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-centred surgical care. He specialises in addressing a wide range of surgical needs for infants, children, and adolescents, ensuring that young patients and their families feel supported throughout their treatment journey. With a focus on achieving the best possible clinical outcomes, Dr Rampersad combines advanced surgical techniques with a reassuring and gentle approach to care.

Dr Rampersad completed his undergraduate medical degree at the University of New South Wales in 2005. He initially undertook surgical training in General Surgery before specialising as a Paediatric Surgeon, obtaining his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2015. To further refine his skills, he completed a Diploma of Laparoscopic Surgery at the University of Strasbourg in 2016 and undertook advanced training in paediatric urology, thoracic surgery, and oncology at a major children's hospital in the United Kingdom. He is also one of the few Australian Surgeons to have successfully passed the European Paediatric Urology Fellowship examinations, qualifying in 2018.

In his clinical practice, Dr Rampersad has a strong interest in minimally invasive surgery for children of all ages, as well as both simple and complex urological disorders. His expertise spans neonatal surgery, thoracic procedures, and the management of common paediatric conditions such as hernias and foreskin issues. Beyond his local practice, Dr Rampersad is deeply committed to global health, regularly volunteering his surgical expertise to provide essential paediatric and urological operations, as well as training for local medical staff, in developing nations.
