Hunter Weight Loss and Upper GI

Hunter Weight Loss is a multidisciplinary bariatric and metabolic surgery practice serving patients across the Hunter, Newcastle and Central Coast regions of New South Wales. The practice provides surgical weight management for eligible patients, including gastric sleeve surgery, Roux-en-Y and mini gastric bypass procedures, and revision surgery following previous Lap-Band treatment.

Patients are supported by a multidisciplinary team comprising bariatric surgeons, dietitians and psychologists. The support programme begins before surgery and continues throughout the post-operative period, with nutritional guidance, psychological support and follow-up care tailored to each patient’s clinical needs and treatment plan. This approach is intended to help patients prepare for surgery, adjust to changes after treatment and maintain their long-term metabolic health.

Procedures are carried out at private hospitals in the region, including Lake Macquarie Private, Newcastle Private, Lingard and Maitland Private Hospitals. The team follows established surgical pathways and provides ongoing monitoring and education to support patient safety before, during and after treatment.
