Dr Pranavan Palamuthusingam

Dr Pranavan Palamuthusingam is a highly qualified Consultant General and Hepato-Pancreatic-Biliary (HPB) Surgeon based in Auchenflower, Queensland. He specialises in the comprehensive management of both benign and malignant conditions of the liver, pancreas, gallbladder, and bile ducts. Known for his reassuring and patient-centred approach, Dr Palamuthusingam is dedicated to delivering high-quality surgical care, with a particular interest in complex cancer surgery and advanced general surgical procedures.

Dr Palamuthusingam completed his medical degree at James Cook University in 2008. He subsequently undertook extensive specialist training in General Surgery, achieving Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in 2015. To further refine his expertise, he completed post-fellowship subspecialty training in HPB Surgical Oncology at a major Australian hospital and a prestigious teaching hospital in Leeds, United Kingdom. He is a certified HPB Surgeon with the Australia, New Zealand, Hepato-Pancreatico-Biliary Association (ANZHPBA).

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr Palamuthusingam is deeply committed to medical education, research, and leadership. He serves as a Senior Lecturer in Surgery at multiple prominent universities and has previously held leadership roles, including serving as a Supervisor of General Surgery Training and a Clinical Lead for regional liver and pancreas surgical services. As the Clinical Lead for a regional foregut research collaborative, he actively contributes to advancing surgical techniques and improving patient outcomes through clinical research.
