Dr Nishmi Gunasingam

Dr Nishmi Gunasingam is a highly dedicated Consultant Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist who provides comprehensive, compassionate, and personalised care for patients experiencing digestive and liver conditions. With extensive experience in both public and private healthcare settings, she is committed to delivering contemporary, evidence-based treatments tailored to each individual's needs. Dr Gunasingam prioritises a collaborative and supportive approach, ensuring her patients feel reassured and fully informed throughout their medical journey.

Dr Gunasingam completed her medical degree at the University of New South Wales in 2009. She subsequently undertook her specialist training in Gastroenterology in Sydney, followed by an advanced international fellowship in London. During her time abroad, she developed highly specialised expertise in advanced endoscopic techniques, including endoscopic mucosal resection and endoscopic submucosal dissection of complex lesions. She is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and holds conjoint accreditation for gastrointestinal endoscopy.

Her clinical practice encompasses a broad range of gastrointestinal and hepatic disorders, with a strong focus on bowel cancer screening, inflammatory bowel disease, and therapeutic endoscopic procedures. In addition to her clinical work, Dr Gunasingam is actively involved in medical education and research. She has published research in international peer-reviewed journals and has served as a Lecturer and Local Examiner, contributing to the training of future medical professionals.
