Dr Niranjana Parthasarathy

Dr Niranjana Parthasarathy is a highly qualified Consultant Gastroenterologist and Endoscopist based in Melbourne, Australia. She is dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-centred, and evidence-based care to individuals experiencing a wide range of digestive health issues. Known for her clear and effective communication, Dr Parthasarathy works collaboratively with patients to achieve the best possible health outcomes, ensuring they feel supported and informed throughout their medical journey.

Dr Parthasarathy completed her medical degree at Monash University, graduating with first class honours in 2009, where she was also named the dux of her clinical school. She completed her Basic Physician Training and subsequent advanced training in Gastroenterology and Hepatology across several major teaching hospitals in Melbourne. To further her expertise, she completed a clinical fellowship in Inflammatory Bowel Disease, focusing on the advanced management of complex chronic conditions. Additionally, she undertook formal training in gastrointestinal ultrasound at prominent metropolitan hospitals. Dr Parthasarathy is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) and is fully accredited and re-certified in colonoscopy by the Gastroenterological Society of Australia (GESA).

In her clinical practice, Dr Parthasarathy manages all aspects of gastroenterology, hepatology, and endoscopy. She has a particular interest in inflammatory bowel disease, including Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, as well as functional gut disorders such as irritable bowel syndrome. Her expertise also encompasses the investigation and management of gastro-oesophageal reflux disease, coeliac disease, fatty liver disease, iron deficiency anaemia, and gastrointestinal bleeding.
