Dr Nima Pakrou is a Melbourne-based ophthalmologist whose specialist interests include general ophthalmology, cataracts, eyelid/lacrimal surgery, and retinal diseases (including age-related macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy).

Dr Pakrou graduated with honours from the University of Adelaide where he achieved the medal for outstanding academic merit. After becoming a Master of Medicine in ophthalmic science, he then trained at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital before completing his subspecialty training in the UK. Following this, he was awarded a fellowship in medical retina and uveitis which he undertook at Bristol Eye Hospital. He also pursued a subsequent fellowship in ophthalmic plastic surgery at Nottingham University Hospital.
Dr Pakrou is actively involved in research with published work in multiple peer-reviewed journals. His current topic of interest is retinal diseases. He also delivers lectures at GP conferences as well as the University of Melbourne and the Australian College of Optometry, where he is also an examiner.
In his personal life, Dr Pakrou enjoys skiing, running, and visiting Greek islands.
