Dr Michele MacNamara

Dr Michele MacNamara is a highly qualified and dedicated Gastroenterologist who provides comprehensive care for patients experiencing a wide range of digestive and liver conditions. With a reassuring and patient-centred approach, she specialises in the diagnosis, investigation, and management of disorders affecting the oesophagus, stomach, small and large intestines, liver, and pancreas. She is committed to delivering high-quality, personalised medical care to help patients achieve optimal digestive health.

In her clinical practice, Dr MacNamara possesses extensive expertise in advanced endoscopic interventions. Her procedural skills include performing upper gastrointestinal endoscopies, colonoscopies, and endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP). She is highly experienced in therapeutic procedures such as oesophageal dilatation, upper and lower gastrointestinal polypectomy, and percutaneous gastrostomy, ensuring that her patients receive precise and effective treatment.

Dr MacNamara completed her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery with Honours at the University of Sydney in 1988. Following her primary medical degree, she undertook extensive postgraduate training, serving as an Advanced Trainee in Gastroenterology for two years and subsequently spending a year as an Advanced Endoscopy Registrar to refine her skills in complex endoscopic techniques. She was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 1995. Dr MacNamara is accredited by the Conjoint Committee for the Recognition of Training in Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and maintains active professional memberships with the Gastroenterological Society of Australia and the Australian Medical Association.
