About Upper GI Surgery

Upper GI Surgery has been caring for patients for more than 25 years. Led by Associate Professor Michael Talbot, the practice specialises in conditions affecting the oesophagus, stomach, pancreas, biliary tree and abdominal wall — offering one of the widest ranges of diagnosis and treatment options available in Australia.

The team is made up of specialist surgeons, a physician, nurses, dietician, psychologist and dedicated support staff, all working together to make sure patients are well looked after from their first appointment through to recovery and beyond. Clinics are based in Kogarah, with additional locations in Wollongong, the Eastern Suburbs and Orange.

The practice holds accreditation as a Centre of Excellence in Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. Upper GI Surgery is also an Australasian leader in robotic surgery, offering robotic-assisted procedures across both upper GI and weight loss surgery.

My first appointment I waited one hour over the appointment time to see Dr. The second appointment over thirty minutes the appointment time. It was not a problem for me and I understand the wait but feel it helpful if you are aware.
