Dr Lei Liu is a highly qualified and dedicated Ophthalmologist who provides comprehensive, patient-centred eye care. With extensive international and local training, she specialises in the diagnosis, management, and surgical treatment of a wide range of ocular conditions. Dr Liu is particularly committed to helping patients preserve and restore their vision through tailored treatment plans that address their unique visual needs and lifestyle goals.

Her primary areas of clinical interest include advanced cataract surgery and the comprehensive management of glaucoma. Dr Liu is highly skilled in performing Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery (MIGS), utilising state-of-the-art devices such as the iStent, Hydrus, and PreserFlo microshunt to help patients manage intraocular pressure. Additionally, she provides expert care for retinal diseases, including age-related macular degeneration (AMD), diabetic retinopathy, and retinal vein occlusion, offering advanced therapies such as targeted eye injections to protect and stabilise patient vision.

Dr Liu obtained her Bachelor of Medicine from a university in China in 1999. She subsequently undertook extensive postgraduate training, completing two prestigious glaucoma fellowships: one at a renowned specialist eye hospital in the United Kingdom and another at a leading eye and ear hospital in Australia. In 2018, she was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists. Dr Liu maintains active professional memberships with several esteemed organisations, including the Australian and New Zealand Glaucoma Society, the Royal College of Ophthalmologists in the United Kingdom, and the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons.
