Dr John Wood is a highly qualified Ear, Nose and Throat Surgeon and Otolaryngologist based in Adelaide, Australia. He provides comprehensive care for both adult and paediatric patients, with a dedicated focus on paediatric ENT and complex airway disorders. Dr Wood is committed to delivering exceptional, patient-centred care to infants, children, and adolescents, supporting families through clear communication and evidence-based treatment pathways. His clinical approach is characterised by a reassuring and professional manner, ensuring that young patients and their parents feel supported at every stage of their healthcare journey.

Dr Wood completed his medical training at the University of Sydney, earning a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery. He also holds a Master of Surgery from Flinders University of South Australia, which he received for his research into laryngopharyngeal reflux, as well as a Bachelor of Social Science (Honours) from the University of Adelaide and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from Flinders University of South Australia. After completing his internship at a major medical centre in Adelaide, he undertook advanced surgical training in Western Australia, gaining his Fellowship in Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery in 2017. To further refine his expertise, he completed a prestigious post-fellowship in paediatric ENT at a leading children's hospital in Auckland, New Zealand. Dr Wood is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and holds active memberships with the Australian and New Zealand Society of Paediatric Otorhinolaryngologists, the Australian Society of Otolaryngology Head Neck Surgery, and the Australian Medical Association.

In his clinical practice, Dr Wood has a particular interest in managing upper airway disorders, including obstructive sleep apnoea, nasal obstruction, and congenital upper airway pathologies such as neonatal stridor and laryngomalacia. He is highly skilled in airway reconstruction techniques, paediatric dysphagia, and the treatment of salivary gland diseases and vascular malformations. Alongside his clinical work, Dr Wood is actively involved in ongoing research into ENT disorders and serves as a supervisor for regional training subcommittees, contributing to the education and mentorship of the next generation of Surgeons.
