Dr John Chetwood

Dr John Chetwood is a consultant gastroenterologist. Dr Chetwood takes immense pride in their work and has a passion for both clinical excellence and taking patients through their sometimes complex medical journey. Dr Chetwood is a member of GESA and participates in the National Bowel Cancer Screening Program; they are accredited for gastroscopy and colonoscopy (including polyp removal) by the Conjoint Committee for the Recognition of Training in Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.

Dr Chetwood regularly treats patients with a variety of gastrointestinal issues. They have also undertaken clinical and research work in Malawi, South Africa, Nigeria, and India. Dr Chetwood also holds a BSc with Honours in gastroenterology, and a DTM&H with Distinction. They have been awarded multiple clinical prizes and distinctions, has authored numerous academic papers, and has presented their research internationally.

Dr Chetwood holds a clinical associate lecturer title with the University of Sydney and relishes their involvement in gastroenterology mentorship and education.
