He later completed further additional training in endoscopic spine surgery. He became a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2016.
Dr Bhaksar has specialist expertise in the treatment and management of both benign and malignant brain tumours, e.g.: meningioma, acoustic neuroma and glioblastoma), vascular malformations and hydrocephalus. He also has expertise in the treatment of disc prolapse, degenerative disc disease, spine fractures and spine tumours.

I am happy to pass on to others my deep appreciation for the C5/C6 Spinal Fusion operation Ivan performed. It is difficult for a non-medical person to understand the incredible complexity of what a neurosurgeon does, but I can attest to the remarkable quality of life changes that can flow from such surgery. I experienced significant benefits immediately after surgery, and am comfortable in the knowledge that this surgery has forestalled future problems that would have been much more challenging to address at a later time in my life. I am grateful Ivan was willing to operate on a Saturday just two days after our consultation, and appreciate the significant effort of his staff in arranging a hospital and getting a team together at such short notice.

Mr Bhaskar is very informative and thorough. He is very patient and will repeat anything l didn't understand. He has a very pleasant nature and good humour. He does not rush you on your decision and will offer alternatives if there are any. I would strongly recommend him to anyone who are having back issues.

I have seen Mr Bhaskar for a strange neck complaint. It had taken some time for me to have tests and reports ready for my initial appointment. When I was first seen by Mr Bhaskar, he immediately apologised to me because it had taken 4 months since he had received the initial referral. I explained it had taken that long to have the required tests and reports completed. I found Mr Bhaskar to be professional, approachable, courteous and informative!
