Mr Ivan Bhaskar

Dr Ivan Bhaskar is an well experienced Specialist Neurosurgeon based in Victoria specialising in both general neurosurgery and minimally invasive spine surgery. He currently sees patients in the Metropolitan Melbourne, Bacchus Marsh, Gisborne, and Bendigo regions, including at Epworth Hospital, The Valley Private Hospital and Mulgrave Private Hospital.

Dr Bhaskar completed his medical degree at the University of Madras, India in 1991 followed by his extensive training in minimally invasive techniques for the management of back pain and complex spinal conditions. He later completed further additional training in endoscopic spine surgery. He became a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2016.

Dr Bhaksar has specialist expertise in the treatment and management of both benign and malignant brain tumours, e.g.: meningioma, acoustic neuroma and glioblastoma), vascular malformations and hydrocephalus. He also has expertise in the treatment of disc prolapse, degenerative disc disease, spine fractures and spine tumours.
