Overall patient feedback highlights his expertise in spinal decompression and lumbar back surgery.
I was referred to Reece Sher because of a herniated l5-s1 that was causing pain, weakness and lack of mobility. Reece Sher was very professional and provided great insight and knowledge into my options and the available surgery to help fix my back. After the initial consultation his admin team were very easy to work with in setting up the earliest possible date for a microdicectomy. His team were very fast to reply to emails and calls as well as providing any information that I wasn't sure about. The day of surgery went fabulous with no complications during or after the operation. The bulk of the pain from my herniated disc had disappeared completely after surgery. Reece Sher saw me briefly after waking up from anesthetic and later in the day in the hospital room. He always showed me great care and respect as a patient and made me feel confident in his care. It's now been 6 weeks since surgery and I will say the operation was a success. My pain has almost completely subsided with small moments of discomfort being the only real lingering effects of my previous condition, but my recovery is trending positively and I expect these lingering effects to disappear completely in the future. Overall the results were as good as I could have hoped for and am extremely grateful for the outcome. I would recommend Reece and his team to anyone with a similar issue that I experienced. I am incredible appreciative for all the care I have received.
A/Prof Reece Sher reassured me from the moment I met him that he was the very best surgeon that I had asked my GP for. He took a lot of time explaining to me why I needed urgent surgery for a herniated disc. He showed so much empathy to my personal family commitments being the Carer of 2 adult members. Surgery took place 3 days after the initial appointment and went exceptionally well with virtually no pain post surgery. I was so fortunate that his exceptional skills allowed him to use a keyhole approach which no doubt enabled me to recover so quickly with virtually no pain. Mr Sher even called in late in the evening to check on me. His skills, kindness and bedside manner are truly amazing and I highly recommend him to anyone needing surgery of this kind. The support staff are lovely and nothing is too much trouble. Thank you for returning me to full mobility
I couldn't be more grateful to have been referred to Mr. Reece Sher. After years of just living with pain and not fully understanding my injury, i finally cracked it and got a decent review - leading to my referral. Honestly, Emily the office manager is an absolute delight! i'm a chaotic patient at best - missing referral deadlines for scans etc - but Emily was always there to help and so lovely about my chaos... When i got in to see Mr. Reece Sher he was AMAZING - he took the time to really properly explain every single thing! i asked a metric tonne of questions, and he patiently answered every single thing, he didn't make me feel time pressured at all, i didn't even realise how long i'd been in till i can out! He didn't push anything, and was honest about ALL my options and where there are data gaps/unknowns. My surgery went exceptionally well - Mr. Reece Sher was thoughtful and extremely considerate of everything thoughout the entire process, the operation, the hospital stay, and the follow ups. I’m 12 months on now and I couldn’t be more greatful. And just another shout out to Emily - coz shes amazing too!
I consulted with Mr Sher 12 months after the operation to reconstruct my L5/S1. Dr Sher informed me that from the latest CT Scan and examination, the operation is considered a complete success.
I had a fantastic experience with Reece and the team. Reece has a very pleasant demeanour and explains concepts that are complicated to the average person in a way that is very easy to understand. Throughout my couple of appointments and eventual surgery, I was always kept well informed and felt immense comfort knowing Reece had my health as his top priority. This was also confirmed when he said to me 'If I'm stressed in the operating room, I'm in the wrong job'. Highly recommend Reece and I appreciate the impact he's had on my life.
Mr Reece Sher on my recent review remains personally in touch with his patients, throughout their entire journey. His professionalism, care for his patients and dedication does not waver.
This is the 2nd surgery that I have had with Mr Reece Sher. Mr Sher is calm and gently spoken, with a bedside manner second to none. He is wonderful at explaining the procedure, the potential risks and the expected outcome. He is not a surgeon who rushes into operating, but rather takes a holistic approach, and seeks the very best outcome for you. His offices are run by two very capable, professional ladies - Emily and Olivia who clearly reflect Mr Sher's high standards and ethos. Thank you, just doesn't seem enough to express my gratitude. Prior to surgery on my spine, everyday was met with extreme sciatic pain that made daily tasks impossible. I am totally pain free and would not hesitate to recommend Mr Reece Sher and his team.
My most recent visit was a 12 month review after spinal fusion surgery. From the first visit, months before the actual surgery, Mr Sher spent time explaining the possible results, both risks and benefits, to us. He was careful to evaluate a number of other conditions I have in order to determine whether surgery could really be of benefit. The operation and post-op recovery went smoothly, and I am very happy with the result.
Always takes time to listen to feedback and gives clear explanations.
