Dr Deepak Haikerwal

Dr Deepak Haikerwal is a Consultant Cardiologist based in Melbourne with clinical interests in all areas of cardiology including interventional cardiology and heart failure. Dr Haikerwal has practiced cardiology privately in the Western region of Melbourne since 2001. He currently is based at Western Health, Alfred Hospital, Western Private Hospital, Cabrini Hospital, Epworth Hospital and HeartWest Williamstown, St Albans, Hoppers Crossing, Sunbury and Roxburgh Park.

Dr Haikerwal completed his medical degree at Monash University in 1991 and became a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 1999. He has practiced at HeartWest since its establishment and has been a part of its successful growth. He was also a key member in setting up the private inpatient cardiology services at Western Private Hospital, now a significant provider of inpatient cardiology services in Western Melbourne.

Dr Haikerwal has special interests in all areas of clinical cardiology. At HeartWest, he is involved with consultations and performs coronary angiograms, transoesophageal echocardiograms and reports on transthoracic echocardiograms. He is passionate about providing high quality cardiology care for the people of the western and north western regions of Melbourne.

Alongside his clinical work, Dr Haikerwal is also involved in teaching and training medical students, residents and registrars in his area of expertise. He is also actively involved in research projects.
