Dr Kate Cayzer

Dr Kate Cayzer is a highly qualified Consultant Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist who provides comprehensive care for patients with a wide range of digestive and liver disorders. With a strong foundation in both clinical practice and scientific research, she is dedicated to delivering evidence-based, patient-centred care. Dr Cayzer adopts a holistic approach to gastroenterology, combining advanced medical treatments with practical guidance on nutrition and lifestyle to support long-term digestive health.

Before embarking on her medical career, Dr Cayzer worked as a Research Officer and Research Scientist, focusing on the cellular biology and immunobiology of liver diseases, particularly Hepatitis B. This extensive scientific background has informed her clinical practice, where she maintains a deep interest in hepatology. Her clinical focus encompasses the management of chronic liver conditions, including Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, and Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD). Additionally, she is highly experienced in managing inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and supporting patients with complex irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).

Dr Cayzer completed her Bachelor of Medical Science and a PhD in Immunobiology before pursuing her medical degree, obtaining her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the University of Queensland. She completed her advanced postgraduate training in gastroenterology at major tertiary and metropolitan hospitals. Dr Cayzer is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) and has successfully completed the Gastroenterological Society of Australia (GESA) Colonoscopy Recertification Programme, ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality in her endoscopic procedures.
